Butterfly Way is a ministry dedicated to supportive respite for people who have experienced a crisis or trauma. We accept referrals from Counsellors, Social Workers, Pastors, and even good friends. We are not an emergency shelter but rather a place to retreat to once the crisis has passed. We offer an opportunity to rest and to experience how being in nature, making some art, and perhaps even feeding some chickens can aid healing. Caring, knowledgeable people are available if needed during the stay.

If you know someone or you yourself have experienced trauma recently and could benefit from a few days in Muskoka, please email or call Christina, at 705-794-6875, or butterflywaymuskoka@gmail.com

Our accommodations are also available to the general public to rent. All rental income is reinvested directly into Butterfly Way. By staying here, you are making it possible for us to serve hurting people in a variety of ways. Camping is $75/nt (includes firewood, BBQ, and propane) Our fees will be updated once the bunkies are built! If you're thinking of making a reservation, have a look at our calendar to see what our availability is!

This is a work in progress! We thank you for your grace and your support.
Butterfly Way Muskoka is situated on 10 acres of mixed bush, with trails, a meandering creek, and a gorgeous wooded ridge. It is located on the private property and home of Mike and Christina MacBean. Only 20 minutes from Huntsville to the East and Rosseau to the West. Skeleton Lake is only a short walk away, where you can enjoy the warm, sand-bottom lake, great for swimming, canoeing, or kayaking.

Nestled in a cozy gully next to the creek we have created a campsite with privacy and comfort in mind. The tent platform is 12’x16’ and will accommodate most tents. Don’t worry about packing a camp stove or hibachi, there is a full-size grill with a side burner available for you, with propane. We’ll even provide you with firewood and don’t mind if you gather some brush and sticks to burn as well. The outhouse is a short walk away and is equipped with a mirror, hand sanitizer, and most importantly, TP! Newly added is our rustic camp kitchen. We'll make sure you're set up with plenty of water for dishes and cooking.

We are currently building this sweet little cabin which will be our Studio Bunkie! This is a place for all things creative - painting, poetry, music, writing, crafting, or simply a great place to hang out and read a book on a rainy day. It will be available for day use but is reserved for the exclusive use of our overnight guests. (photo credit to Bunkie Life)

This bunkie with loft is for overnight guests and will be delivered at the beginning of September. It will accommodate a small family. Stay tuned for more about this, we hope to be able to offer it for an early fall getaway. (photo credit to Bunkie Life)
